Participation Guidelines
If you would like to go on an outing,
please contact the leader of that trip. It is recommended
that you do so at least a week in advance of the outings so
that the trip leader can make the necessary arrangements to
accommodate the number of participants. Please make sure the
trip leader has a way to contact you quickly in case plans
have to be changed. Trip leaders may screen participants for
the skills and equipment necessary for the particular type of
outing being conducted.
Membership in the Sierra Club is not
required to attend, but all participants will need to sign a liability
waiver (see below) in order to participate.
Menu
Liability Waiver & Carpooling
Policy
In order to participate on one of the
Sierra Club's outings, all participants (members or not) must
sign a liability waiver or an acknowledgement of
risk. If you would like to obtain a copy of this document
prior to the outing, please call (415) 977-5630 or go to
http://www.sierraclub.org/outings/chapter/forms/
.
In the interests of facilitating the
logistics of some outings, it is customary that participants
make carpooling arrangements. The Sierra Club does not
have insurance for carpooling arrangements and assumes no
liability for them. Carpooling, ride sharing or anything
similar is strictly a private arrangement among the
participants. Participants assume the risks associated with
this travel.
